As part of the national landscape restoration agenda, the Privatization Authority partnered with Kenya Forest Service and Community Forest Conservators to plant 100,000 trees in Sorget Forest, Kericho County.
As part of an ongoing initiative to plant 15 billion trees by 2032, the Privatization Authority, in partnership with the Kenya Forest Service and Community Forest Conservators, planted 100,000 trees in Sorget Forest, Kericho County, during the Financial Year 2025/2026.
Launched by H.E. William Samoei Ruto on 15 May 2024, the initiative seeks to restore 10.6 million hectares of degraded landscapes and increase Kenya’s tree cover to 30 percent by 2032.
The tree-planting campaign seeks to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change, reduce environmental degradation, sequester carbon dioxide, and provide environmental, social, and economic benefits for communities and the country.
