Statutory Functions
Section 9 of the Privatization Act, 2025 sets out the Authority’s core functions across advisory, implementation, monitoring, research, disclosure, and stakeholder engagement responsibilities.
01Advise the Government on all aspects of privatization of public entities.
02Facilitate the implementation of Government policies on privatization.
03Implement the Privatization Programme.
04Implement specific Privatization Proposals in accordance with the Privatization Programme.
05Collaborate with other organizations, within or outside Kenya, as it may consider appropriate in furtherance of the objects of the Act.
06Prepare long-term divestiture sequence plans.
07Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Privatization Programme.
08Carry out public education and stakeholder engagement on privatization matters.
09Undertake research and maintain information on privatization and public enterprise reform.
10Publish programme updates, notices, reports, and disclosures required by law.
