Public Participation on Kenya's Privatization Programme
The Privatization Authority is committed to implementing Kenya’s Privatization Programme through a transparent, inclusive, and accountable process. Public participation is a fundamental component of this commitment, providing citizens, investors, employees, communities, and other stakeholders with an opportunity to contribute to decisions that shape the future of State-owned enterprises.
As part of our stakeholder engagement process, the Authority invites members of the public to review proposed privatization initiatives and submit their views, comments, and recommendations. Your feedback helps ensure that privatization transactions are informed by diverse perspectives, address public concerns, and deliver long-term economic and social value.
Transparent
Open consultation helps ensure privatization decisions are clear, accountable, and informed by public interest.
Inclusive
Citizens, investors, employees, communities, professional bodies, and institutions all have a voice in the process.
Accountable
Submissions are reviewed and considered in line with the Privatization Act and applicable legal frameworks.
Programme Objectives
The Privatization Programme seeks to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of State-owned enterprises, attract private investment, broaden citizen participation in wealth creation, deepen Kenya’s capital markets, and reduce the fiscal burden on the Government while enhancing service delivery.
How to Participate
- Review the relevant privatization proposal and supporting documents.
- Submit written comments and recommendations within the stipulated consultation period.
- Participate in public forums, stakeholder meetings, and consultations organized by the Privatization Authority.
- Share views on opportunities, potential impacts, and recommendations that can strengthen the proposed transaction.
All submissions received during the consultation period will be reviewed and considered in accordance with the Privatization Act and other applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
