Dr. Edward Kobuthi

Dr. Edward Kobuthi Board Member Executive, academic and board leader with over 30 years of management and governance experience. Profile Dr. Kobuthi has over 30 years of management and board experience and has worked in manufacturing, food processing, airline airport operations and academia. He studied Food Process Engineering at the Technical University of Kenya, is a Brewmaster from VLB, Faculty of Brewing and Distillation of the Technical University Berlin, Germany, and holds the Diploma Master Brewer from the Institute of Brewing, London. He has a PhD in Strategic Management, Corporate Governance, from the University of Nairobi, an MBA in Strategic Management, and a B.Sc in Marketing and Finance, both from the United States International University. He was trained and certified by IoD/IFC to conduct board evaluations. He has served as CEO and General Manager at AMREF's Lomidat Meat Processors, General Manager at Kenya Airways, and General Manager at Kenya Airports Authority in charge of JKIA Nairobi. At East African Breweries Limited he served as Project Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Bottling Manager and Distribution Manager. He served as a director with the Water Services Regulatory Board and currently sits on the University Council of International Leadership University as well as serving as Chair of CITAM Schools, CITAM Thika Town. He has sat on many secondary school boards and is immediate past chair of the Embu County Professionals Development Association (ECPDA), which champions initiatives to give back to the community.
