He is a career civil servant who rose through the ranks in the civil service, having started as a District Officer. He has served as the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Vice President and the ministries of Regional Development, Health, Tourism and Wildlife, and Gender, Sports, Culture and Social Services. Amb.
